POLICE are asking residents in Heysham for information after a spate of wheelie bin fires.
A number of fires have been reported recently in areas such as the Combermere Estate, Kingsway Estate and Meldon Grange.

The Heysham Neighbourhood Policing team say the majority of the fires have taken place in bins that have been left out overnight for morning collections and have posted leaflets about the incidents to local residents.

Anyone who has any information about the fires can contact the Heysham team on 01524 63333 or alternatively ring Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
